Our Mission is to develop opportunities for Aboriginal people in country, culture and community through engagement in Research, Arts and Education.

RESEARCH & EDUCATION

Ngalia is a community based research organisation generating knowledge within our Ngalia language research, our Art collections, Family history and our body of research in Aboriginal heritage. We have a strong  focus with work on saving and sharing our Ngalia Language.

NGALIA RANGERS

A strong focus of the Ngalia Rangers is on elders mentoring and developing youth. We have a cultural mentoring and training framework for our Rangers to access further education and training whilst undertaking Traditional ecological knowledge and Science based work on country. This includes identifying, documenting and recording Traditional knowledge for plants, animals, heritage and natural resources, with a aim to develop management plans for these places. A significant outcome of the work will be the use of modern technology for documenting, recording, analyzing and managing knowledge and country. Youth empowerment with media is one of our priority areas.

ABORIGINAL ART

We maintain our own cultural collection of Ngalia Arts and we work with the Walkatjurra Cultural Centre to create and provide opportunity for Northern Goldfields Aboriginal People to express and promote their Art and Culture Practices to maintain and strengthen Northern Goldfields Aboriginal People and Culture. We publish books and multimedia.
